Professor Takatoshi Ito Memorial Conference
In honor of the late Professor Takatoshi Ito, and in recognition of his longstanding contributions to the development of economic research on Japan, we are pleased to announce the organization of a memorial conference that offers a broad overview of Japanese economics.
Professor Ito was a leading scholar in international finance, fiscal policy, and the Japanese economy, making profound contributions both to academic research and to policy formulation. Through his teaching and research at institutions such as the University of Tokyo and Columbia University, he played a pivotal role in advancing economics and fostering international intellectual exchange. In addition, he was deeply engaged in public policy practice, including his service as Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs.
This conference will bring together economists who worked closely with Professor Ito to express our deep gratitude for his scholarly achievements and dedication to public service, and to reflect on the development of related fields of economic research through the lens of his remarkable career.
We very much look forward to your participation.
